We cut dough — not corners — when it comes to our signature fried pies. Our made-from-scratch crust is carefully folded over the sweetest farm-fresh apples (cherry, peach or blueberry), and then dropped in hot oil for an incredibly light-and-flaky treat. A swipe of sweet glaze, and you have all the makings of the perfect North Georgia snack — served hot or cold.

Due to other reviewers, I was expecting more... I didn't get it. The crusts need to be more sturdy, because some of the pie crusts were broken when they arrived. Plus, you could not pick them up without the pies breaking apart and this was not due to flakiness of the crust. Overall, I felt all the pies had too much sugar in them that overwhelmed the actual taste of the fruit (apple, blueberry, sweet potato and peach). The only pie that I saw had real pieces of fruit in it was the apple pie. The peach pie had no chunks of peaches in them at all, it was puree fruit. Now I know I need to look else where for dessert for my event.

Our first family visit to Blue Ridge included an indulgent visit to Mercier.....and 6 years later it's become an annual tradition for our family! Last year we couldn't make a vacation to Blue Ridge so we brought the Taste of Blue Ridge home with Mercier's fried pies via mail order. These are quite frankly the best darn fried pies we have ever had a we love Mercier Orchards and all of the goodies they make!!!

Looked at website to order the fried pie assortment but were intrigued by the apple cider doughnuts. No need to worry about how well they would keep; they disappeared in no time. Very moist!

We discovered mercier orchards quite by accident. Now that we found them, we visit them every time we go to the mountains. I've even told friends at work about it and they visited to enjoy the apples and especially the fried apple pies. It's a great place to take your family and if you go at the right time, you can pick your apples. What makes it even better is when you really get a craving and can't drive 400 miles, you can always order a dozen and then have them shipped to your house next day. A little pricey but worth it as a rare treat.

The pies are great (according to my wife), however, a better method to package needs to be applies as many (over 3/4ths) were broken up pretty bad.
They can be frozen and heated up just before eating.
Fix the packing and they would get 5 stars.

My husband & I were sitting around the breakfast table, when he said " I sure would like to have some fried pies to be eating right now."
I went straight to my office and started ordering. I ordered 24 Fried pies (assorted) & 3 Sour cream pound cakes. My husband has eaten all the sweet potato pies up. We both have eaten all the lemon/poppy seeds (delicious) . I have frozen remainder of pies & cakes. We probably will be going to the freezer sooner than later.

Two years ago, we visited your store and purchased the fried pies to enjoy while vacationing in your area. Since that time, I have twice ordered the fried pies online, and look forward to enjoying them during the holidays.
