Mark your calendars!
April 20th, 2013 will mark our 2nd annual 'Breathe Deep Blue Ridge' 5K Walk/Run here at Mercier Orchards! This event was planned and managed by Melissa Lillard, a 3rd generation family member, who was diagnosed in February 2011 with stage IV lung cancer. We are raising awareness that Lung Cancer is not just a smoker's disease and that it has no boundaries! We welcome everyone to come and enjoy a brisk run or walk through our orchards, surrounded by friends and apple blossoms. All of the proceeds will go the the LUNGevity Foundation to fund research, early detection, and lung cancer awareness. The route is pet friendly, provided that they are leashed and cleaned up after. We will offer food and live entertainment for the whole family, as well as the 5K run/walk.
Registration can be done online through http://www.lungevity.org.
Be aware! If you register the day of the race, you will not receive a race t-shirt.
